Con una historia que se extiende por todo el mundo, gran parte del thriller se desarrolla en el Pa\u00eds Vasco a finales de los a\u00f1os sesenta y principios de los setenta. Actualmente en fase de preproducci\u00f3n en Warner Bros. para una adaptaci\u00f3n cinematogr\u00e1fica, Shibumi ser\u00e1 sin duda una lectura entretenida en una fr\u00eda noche de invierno.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UNA REVISI\u00d3N:<\/strong><br>\u201cEl \u00e1ngulo de ficci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica me atrajo a la novela. Creo que Amazon me la sugiri\u00f3, bas\u00e1ndose en mi anterior compra de\u00a0<em>Shogun<\/em>, o quiz\u00e1s\u00a0<em>Pasaje de Estambul<\/em>\u00a0por Joseph Cannon. Para ese picor,\u00a0<em>Shibumi<\/em>\u00a0no me decepcion\u00f3. La novela est\u00e1 bien documentada y toca temas, \u00e9pocas y lugares en los que mis conocimientos son un poco escasos o incluso inexistentes. Me hizo buscar en Google y consultar Wikipedia mientras le\u00eda, y me ense\u00f1\u00f3 bastante por el camino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En el fondo, dentro de su envoltorio de ficci\u00f3n hist\u00f3rica,\u00a0<em>Shibumi<\/em>\u00a0es una novela de inteligencia y espionaje internacional. Un se\u00f1or corporativo, la Compa\u00f1\u00eda Madre, controla las principales agencias de inteligencia del mundo (CIA, NSA, MI-5, etc.) y organiza tramas retorcidas e inc\u00f3modas, pero no incre\u00edbles, para mantener su control sobre la energ\u00eda y la informaci\u00f3n del mundo occidental. \u00bfC\u00f3mo de retorcidos e inc\u00f3modos? \u00bfQu\u00e9 le parece una misi\u00f3n de la CIA en la que asesina a miembros de una c\u00e9lula israel\u00ed decidida a frustrar el secuestro de un avi\u00f3n respaldado por la OLP? La Agencia incluso mata, a prop\u00f3sito, a algunos de sus propios agentes en el proceso. A pesar de haber sido publicada hace casi 40 a\u00f1os, este aspecto de la novela no es, por desgracia, ni mucho menos irrelevante o anticuado. De hecho, parece tan cre\u00edble y relevante hoy como, sospecho, lo era en 1979\u201d. - J.
