Douglass Center for Basque Studies\, who will introduce the film and lead a discussion and Q&A after the screening.\nThe BEO will be following CDC guidelines. Please be prepared to wear masks during the show.\n\nSYNOPSIS:\nAt the age of 19\, Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) was a highly gifted athlete well on his way to becoming a football legend. However\, a brutal injury during a game put an end to his professional sports career. Nobody except Pilar Belzunce\, his life-long partner\, suspected that the young goalkeeper from Hernani was about to rewrite his future and die decades later as one of the 20th century’s best sculptors. Chillida: Esku Huts is not a conventional biography\, but a poetic\, intimate look at an artist second to none. A person who remains alive through his work\, his eight children and some of his closest collaborators. \n2016\, directed by Juan Barrero\, color\, in Euskara & Castilian with English subtitles\, 74 minutes

Feigning poor health so he can resign before being disgraced in a corruption scandal\, Patrizio passes the job on to his wife María Luisa\, whom he assumes will follow his orders. Chaos ensues when this does not turn out to be the case\, as María Luisa has ideas of her own. Seeing an opportunity to make real change\, his wife seizes the chance of a lifetime\, but will their marriage survive? \nReuniting the electric combination of Ramón Agirre (Operation Goldenshell SFF18) and Elena Irureta as they return to their roles of Mr. and Mrs. Etxebeste\, this sharp social satire about corruption and power in local politics world premiered to critical acclaim at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. DESCRIPTION:The BEO is a proud sponsor of the upcoming N.A.B.O. Berstolari Special Tribute where N.A.B.O. will honor the contributions over the years of the U.S. based bertsolaris who have performed at many N.A.B.O. events and N.A.B.O. member events.  This tribute will showcase the four active U.S. bertsolaris along with two bertsolaris from the Basque Country in a full bertsolaritza performance with real time English translation of the improvised verses.  The performance will be followed by a dinner.
