Lorsqu'une orpheline curieuse entre par hasard dans son atelier, elle d\u00e9couvre sans le vouloir un \u00e9trange captif encha\u00een\u00e9 et d\u00e9clenche une lutte sombre et fantaisiste impliquant la superstition, la cupidit\u00e9 et une culpabilit\u00e9 longtemps enfouie. S'inspirant des contes populaires basques, le film m\u00eale une atmosph\u00e8re gothique \u00e0 un humour terre-\u00e0-terre et \u00e0 l'imagination d'un livre d'histoires, r\u00e9v\u00e9lant progressivement que les monstres qui hantent le village sont peut-\u00eatre moins effrayants que les personnes qui pr\u00e9tendent les craindre.
