SYNOPSIS:
Ainhoa was born by a miracle in La Paz (Bolivia), after the death of her mother Amanda in a simulated car accident. She grew up in Cuba and in 1988, at the age of 21, she traveled to the Basque Country to discover the land of her father Manex. In the midst of repression and political conflict, she meets Josune, a committed journalist, and her gang of friends. After one of them dies of a heroin overdose, Ainhoa and Josune set out on an initiatory journey that will take them across Lebanon, Afghanistan and the city of Marseille. These are the last years of the Cold War and they will delve into the dark world of drug trafficking networks and their close links to political plots.

About the Director – FERMIN MUGURUZA
Founder of bands like Kortatu, Negu Gorriak and Kontrabanda, Fermin Muguruza (Irun, Gipuzkoa. 1963) debuted as a director of documentaries with Basque Culture (2006). In 2009, Checkpoint Rock: Canciones desde Palestina closed the San Sebastian Human Rights Film Festival and screened in Zinemira. With Next Music Station (2011), a series on music from different Arab countries, he returned to Zinemira, going on to present Zuloak the following year in Zabaltegi. In 2013 he co-directed with Daniel Gómez No More Tour, a documentary following his own tour, and in 2016 premiered in Zinemira Nola?, about New Orleans ten years after Katrina. In 2018 he returned to Zinemira with the animated feature Black is Beltza plus a segment of the anthology film, Gure Oroitzapenak. In 2010 he sat on the jury of the Kutxa-New Directors Award.
