Documentary Experiment
Showing: February 17th @ 1:00 p.m., South San Francisco

SYNOPSIS:

This is an audiovisual project created by artists Amaia Hormaetxea and Endika Basaguren in the cities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chino, Las Vegas, and New York. The concept of this performance as a documentary experiment is to demonstrate the non-existence of borders in our Basque culture. It discusses a traditional Basque feeling, from communities such as Chino or San Francisco to a more contemporary vision of what it means to be and love Basque, embodied in the figure of the New York poet Elisabeth Macklin. A reflection on the fact that “in this increasingly globalized world, Basque culture is alive and active, going beyond borders [of the Basque Country].”
