WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THIS MEETING?
For the first time, the two clubs will be meeting to discuss the same story, as told in their respective forms: film and book.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Fernando Aramburu’s Patria (Homeland) follows two Basque families in a small town near San Sebastián, once inseparable, torn apart after ETA’s campaign of violence claims one of their own. As suspicion falls on their closest friends, both families are left to navigate grief, guilt, and shame in a community forever changed. Moving between past and present, the novel — adapted into an eight-episode HBO series — traces the long, uncertain path toward reconciliation in the years after ETA lays down its arms.
