ABOUT THE FILM
Winner of the Golden Shell at San Sebastiรกn and the Goya for Best Film
Ainara is seventeen, brilliant, and expected to choose a university degree. Instead, she makes a choice no one saw coming: she feels called to God and is considering life as a cloistered nun. Her announcement stuns her family, opens a deep rift between them, and forces each of them to question what they believe and what they want for her.
From Alauda Ruiz de Azรบa, the acclaimed director of Cinco lobitos / Lullaby, Sundays is an intimate, absorbing portrait of faith, family, and the right to choose your own path. It won five Goyas, including Best Film, Best Director, and Best Leading Actress, and it is one of the most celebrated Spanish films of the year.
