LITTLE FREE BASQUE LIBRARY
The “Little Free Library” is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to “be a catalyst for building community, inspiring readers, and expanding book access for all through a global network of volunteer-led Little Free Library book -exchange boxes.”
When we looked at our physical library and all the wonderful books just sitting there, knowing we wanted to get them out into our greater communities, the “Little Free Library” spoke to us.
Of course, though, we’re the BEO. We had to put our own spin on it. So, fusing the book-exchange boxes with our mission to give inclusive access to Basque culture through the arts, we’re creating little Basque book-exchange boxes to distribute across the United States, each including a handful of books from our library to get you started.
– For euskal etxeas, Basque community centers, or designated gathering areas, we’re giving these for free (though we may ask for help to cover shipping costs)
– For individuals, we are charging a nominal cost to get you started.
