SURPRISE THAT SPECIAL WOMAN, OR WOMEN, IN YOUR LIFE

ALREADY HAVE THE 411 AND READY TO DO THIS? LET'S GO.

Here are some commonly asked questions about this project...

[Please note: the FINAL due date is September 15, 2026 – but the earlier the better – we’re offering discounts for the early birds.]

This is an invitation to join the BEO in putting together a beautiful book for and about women.

How? By taking part in the third edition of a simple yet powerful book that includes pictures and some narrative about the woman.

Listen, we are fortunate enough to have some very special women in our lives. Yes, we spent an entire day discussing the impact of women in our Basque communities at our Basque Cultural Day in 2023, but we don’t think the conversation should end there. This book is our way keeping this dialogue alive.

Want to know what else is super cool about your contribution? A portion of the proceeds will be placed in our Women’s Empowerment Fund. If you don’t know what that is, then make sure you check it out HERE.

A collection of pictures alongside short stories, or poems, or letters, or anything you want, really. It is absolutely okay to use your imagination.

Our very first book was a smaller book. For the second edition, we upgraded to a coffee-table-style hardcover, 10″ x 10″, and combined all the women from the first book into the second with the second edition’s new set of stories. You can get an idea of this book HERE.

We love the idea of dedicating one page per woman (because we feel like women deserve their own page), but with short stories, we can fit in no more than three (3) to a page.

No. We will be designing the book in-house.

Here are some questions to get the wheels spinning:

  • Why is she important to you?
  • Is there an interesting historical or fun story about her in the Basque community?
  • How has she been influential (to you, the community, etc.)?
  • Perhaps you want to share a favorite recipe (and maybe a little story about it)?
  • Is there a poem she loves?
  • What is your fondest memory of her?
  • What words of wisdom did she share with you?

Yes! [For a little additional cost], we will be happy to help write and polish your submission. You share your memories — we help shape them into a beautifully written tribute while preserving your voice.

This will be accomplished via a phone call, Zoom meeting, or written Q&A to gather their story. Once we have the details, we will draft the page submission for your review and approval.

  1. Go find your photo, or photos and put them in digital format. That may mean, if it’s an old picture, taking a picture of the picture. Don’t worry about it being straight, just pay closer attention to glares for lighting in the room or flashes. Probably not a good idea to use a flash. We’re allowing up to three images to a page.
  2. Once you’ve got that, fill in this form to submit the picture(s) and your narrative.

SOME FINE PRINT WE NEED TO DISCUSS...

We will not change the meaning, perspective, or message of your story. Please let us know below how you feel about that:
